Well if positive comments are needed, I like watching both. Imagine chilling with a nice girl or just your mates with some whiskey or rum etc in sunny Sri Lanka, watching Mahela expertly and delicately milk spin on a lovely summer’s evening. And as for MoYo, he was aesthetically good too and actually looks a better player than his distribution suggests. He was a more naturally gifted strokemaker than Younis but Younis had the better mental attributes and also much better against spin.

Tbf I wasn’t taking Voges into account as I was only thinking of players with a proper career length, but yeah Paynter has to be considered as he played in a batting era too.

Jayawardene, just, maybe. Probably affected by vivid memories of MoYo at the end of his career being all at sea against Bond and O'Brien.

Jaya was definitely a better player of spin, but Yousuf wasn't that bad against spin except for Murali. However, Jaya is probably the only near 50 averaging bat to collectively suck in all of SENA. That's pretty unforgivable.

Yousuf seemed a better bat against better bowling and a higher ceiling. He gets my vote.

Yeah but those other players have at least one country with a reasonably good record. Jaya is poor in all four.

A terrific player, though his Test record is a little uneven and a lot of his runs came in a handful of Tests at the end of the 1930s. That being said, I respect your opinion enough to go back and re-analyse that for myself now.
