Jadeja's averages are helped by the fact Ashwin has taken the hit on non helpful surfaces for him. His average away sees his bowling average higher than his batting, probably would've been worse if he'd played the Tests instead of Ashwin.

What? He'd have been sitting on 350+ wickets if he played all the tests he missed, especially in Asia!

Agar not playing has cost Aus pretty badly

That full bunger from Marnus is about the only one I can recall being bowled all test

Boland wont play another test in the subcontinent

This long 8th wicket partnership is demoralising for Aus in the 35 degree heat.
Hazel doubtful for 2
nd test but Starc Aus batting/Bowling all rounder will be back at Delhi, I would love to see Gill in his home ground "as opener" or at 5

Have you been happy with Lyons performance? He's given the ball a good rip but you expect that on this pitch

Must play 5 bowlers if Australia want to win tests.

Warner/Renshaw
Khawaja
Labu
Smith
Head/Handscomb
Carey
Green (Starc)
Agar
Cummins
Lyon
Murphy

Green might not be available though

I think he’s been ok. I wouldn’t say he’s bowled badly in that I haven’t watched him and thought he should be doing X or Y different or better. He’s created a few chances and hasn’t been smacked around. They’ve played him very well.

Murphy’s trajectory has worked better, but the test for him will be backing it up across the series. One thing about lyon is he will bowl a stack of overs all day for you with decent consistency.

It’s not so much they’ve bowled poorly as they’re a bowler short for the conditions. Would be tempted to even fly over Aaron Hardie to bat seven if Green can’t bowl and then play Cunmins, the two offies and Agar.
