Kane is the next Ian Bell.

Looks good and has his technique constantly praised by pundits, only to rarely perform against good sides on decent tracks.

Seen the guy fail time and time again for us when we needed him, he's only good for bullying mediocre bowling attacks or scoring runs on roads.

If I had it my way, the big 4 would be Kohli, Root, Smith and Rahane.

Rahane is far more accomplished than Kane and is only a few big series away from kicking Kane out of the big 4.

CM Punk - a man 5 years ahead of his time.

Tough one to parse. For all of Blocky's arseholery he was could be a really insightful poster when he wasn't trying to be a dick. For every Smith there was a Wagner. CM Punk by comparison was way less antagonistic, but he actually admitted that the only reason he ever came on to CW was to talk **** about NZ when they lose.

Iirc that was in a hypothetical "what would he need to do to be better than hadlee" and I thought his bowling had some potential to help his cause. I think I threw in 100 @ 35 as a "this is about equal to a 27 batting average"

Hurricane then admitted emotionally no one can ever top hadlee so meh.

Yeah he showed up on a NZ gaming forum IIRC and followed the same exact arc that he did here. Right down to him being banned for basically just being a dick to everyone and before leaving he had one final rant about how forums were dying because they were silencing controversial voices like his. A truly glorious spectacle.

I thought Braithwaite would do way better tbh. It's only been a short slump for him as before the Australia series, he was getting a hundred almost every series, and he's still extremely young.so I'm still backing him to become a 45+ averaging opener.

Big call, 45+ is massive for an opener. He's not that good imo.
