remember this place in 2015 when half of them clicked after decades eden park was tiny and confidently predicted 500 was on the cards in the australia world cup game?

Fantastic entertainment from India smashing the hapless attack to all parts. As mentioned, this is our 3rd string team with Jamo, Will Young, Tim Southee and Kane Williamson all not playing so none of it matters. As mentioned, the small ground size, and fast outfield, and the inexperienced attack are the reason for the very high run rate. Tickner has only played 8 ODI’s for example. Not sure how many Santner, Ferguson, and Mitchell have played.
The fault is with India for their dire scheduling of a silly series while Boult is on T20 duty and some of the Kiwi ‘stars’ are being rested.
A world record score here would probably have Stead shrugging his shoulders as none of it matters. He will be looking ahead to the NZ summer test campaign against a rampant England, and will be keen for a better result at Bay Oval after the thumping Bangladesh dished out last year.
