The legacy of Steve Smith

Coronis

International Coach
So with Smith at 30 tons, I thought I’d compare the records of other players after they scored 30 tons. Apart from Tendulkar, Dravid, Kallis (~49), Sanga (60) and Waugh (83), all had pretty heavy declines, mostly low 40’s to mid 30’s, with some exceptions. (Hayden 23, Chanders 16). Will be interesting to see how much longer Smith does play, and how his career ends up.

Should retire mid match very soon, during the course of a big not out knock after declaring, to satisfy Coronis's average preservation fetish.

Aussie selectors are ruthless. His average won't fall too much as they'd drop him first.
I doubt it. As we’ve seen with Kohli recently once you’ve achieved a certain level of success in tests for your country it can be pretty hard to get dropped.
