Assuming people do consider Anderson as the 4th best pacer bowler of this century after McGrath, Steyn and Cummins, so has last 25 years been weakest in terms of great fast bowlers since WWII ?
If we break cricket into 3 parts of 25 years each : 1950-75, 1975-00, 2000-23
Has last 25 years been weakest ?

Whatever it takes!!!
I consider him the 3rd best. Cummins can of course overtake him but almost completed career Vs incomplete career etc.

Cummins is such a thoroughbred. Not to jinx him before such an important tour lol, but the guy looks unbreakable. His bowling isn't as ***y as he is as a physical specimen but he more than anyone is the heir to Ambrose and McGrath in how he makes every spell a fight for survival. I think he's better than Steyn already and will end up with the figures to show for it. Just hope he doesn't go bald; seems to be something of a running thread in this Australian side.

Cummins and atm, it isn't close. I was sold on the back of what he achieved in Pakistan. They him and Smith are in the same team seems almost unfair....lol lol.

Maybe, yea. But the overall, i.e. average, fast/pace bowler is much better these days. And most teams seem to have at least 2-3 pretty damn good ones around.

The answer to this thread is probably Cummins but unfinished career and all that, so I'm going to say Shoaib.

Special note for Shoaib Ahktar there for doing it on those roady roads of that decade with that average and that strike rate. Scary bowler at his peak.

Nah steyn averaged 24 in one of the hardest bowling era's ever. If I had to pick 4 bowlers to bowl out a side on a rawlopindi type road he's one of the 3 Pacers I have on the teamsheet.

If he does go bald, he'll probably install solar panels.

It’s Cummins obv.

4th is very tricky. Pollock, Anderson and TJB/Flem will bat for Harris too.

After Cummins, it's between Rabada and Bumrah. This most recent series notwithstanding, but Rabada bowled his team to victory last time in Aus. Ditto Bumrah. What I like about both which is rare among current pacemen, is that they are both very good outside their home countries. Rabada actually wasn't for a while but he's been slowly improving.
