really wish there were tests attached to this series!!
Ireland begins the upcoming cycle of the ICC Future Tours Program scheduled for the years 2023–2027 with a one-off Test match against England, which will be followed by away trips to Zimbabwe and Afghanistan. Then, in January 2024, Ireland will play one of four series against the Asian team over the five-year cycle when they go to Afghanistan for one Test, three ODIs, and three T20Is.

Unfortunately, Zimbabwe/ Afghanistan & Ireland still not Qualify for WTC by ICC

Otherwise they get Chance to play more.

Couple of years ago ICC gave warning to play more test to Bangladesh otherwise their test aStatus will be Remove, Now bangers doing okayed.

After 2025 or so we have many teams in world T20 one Group will be many Minor countries & other Group will be All test playing minus Afg/ Ire & Zimbabwe) plus we have 2 teams who will be winner of Final.

(You will never see ireland vs Bangladesh or Zimbabwe vs Pakistan in World t20, i think its good idea, minor gets more chance to play more & more games.

(Sachin Suggest 35 teams in ODI World cup)

Nothing yet official only on talk, Sachin also Suggest test match should be only 1st innings while 2nd innings will be 50/50.

Aus. Who suppose to play only test vs Afghanistan but they changed their mind which is bad Attitude, this indeed 2nd time they cancelled to play vs Afghanistan.

i know that the icc will always say money is the justification for why you don't see, like, afghanistan play a three test series in bangladesh or whatever for example, but to my mind there's enough money being raked in by aus ind eng who have a responsibility to grow the game across the world that they should be subsidising the smaller nations so they can play more and become competitive

Nice to see Ballance back, think the guy has gone through a tough time (some of it self inflicted sure) but he'll be a boost for Zim.

Yes, that middle order was quite unstable apart from Raza. But getting him there provides a bit of balance to their batting order.

Zimbabwe have won the toss and have opted to field

Ireland 28/3* including Debutant Ross Adair.

Ireland missed Paul Sterling who either with SA20 or International League Twenty 20 in Dubai
