I think test cricket in terms of the number of matches being played is in decline for many countries.

Also the calendar is now so congested with T20 tournaments, there simply isn't the room for as many test series.

I don't think interest is necessarily on the decline but in the future, will as many fans, who have been brought up on T20 cricket, make the transition to test cricket - I'm not so sure.

For me a big turning point was the cancelled test in England in 2021, and not just because I was on the way to the ground when it was cancelled. ?

That match could have gone ahead but players were concerned if they played, they may catch Covid and miss part of the IPL.

The IPL was prioritised over test cricket and it won't be the last time that happens.

Do you mean the city of Chennai and the historical context in which Burgey would often refer to how Chennai smells like poo and is basically an open flowing sewer of a city? But because HB was angry the useless mods who couldn't even ban a Nazi who lasted on this forum longer than Nazi Germany lasted in World War Two (2) decided to shut any discourse about Chennai down? Do you mean that?
Yes. Yes I think he does mean that

Steve Smith basically put the drive away early in his innings 2017-2022. I'm sure someone has mentioned this before but this summer his technique has changed so his front foot is getting across to the pitch of the ball which makes this a safer shot to play.

Maybe smith has gone back to the old technique because he knows it works at the SCG? Made 2 60 ball tons here vs india in the ODI series and followed it up with a test 100 when he couldn't buy a run outside of that for a bit.
