Shame that dre russ is going after one more game and guptill is replacing him. Guptill is a gun white ball player, just not sure he fits this side aswell. Renegades desperately need a solid #6.

Finch with the sheet anchor of season to date, probably fair with Dre going bananas at the other end.
Yeah not a truly terrible innings in the context, so far, but it's still hard to watch

If he gets them home it will be well played from 4 for nothing

Yeah I also don’t know that he’d have batted the same way if Russel went early, for example. But at 4/9 his primary job was to take it as deep as he could I guess
If he hadn't played a few similarly laborious T20 innings in recent times where he didn't have that excuse I would probably give him a lot more credit for pacing this one according to the game situation

Back of my mind is just thinking he was lucky to get away with it

TBF it's an inference I've drawn from a few comments made about him. Things like "doesn't lack confidence, that's for sure", "has a lot of faith in his own ability", "not backwards in coming forward" are basically polite euphemisms for "up-himself ****."

Yeah it's a pretty iffy take on my behalf here, probably buoyed by the fact he's dropped back a level to the BBL from internationals, and that he batted well int eh previous game. Jury is still definitely out, but I'd love to see him do well if this is going to be his last season. Genuinely been a great LO player for Aus for years, and seems a properly decent bloke.
