They obviously just don't Like Mulder... or any of the other quality batsmen sitting in SA. And of course there is always Rickeltons dodgy ankle.Hmm I still don't know what they expect from Jansen at 7. There has been absolutely no indication that he should be there.
I am not blaming this on Jansen... its literally not what he should be asked to be doing. He is a fantastic bowler with some potential with the bat. Forcing him in at 7 to justify some sort of terrible selection policy is entirely on Elgar and the SA cricket administration.Weak from jansen
About the only positive thing I can say is that the SA supporters are not surprised by any of it... this was as predictable both in selection and outcome as it could be.The mindset behind the team balance is insane imo. I thought it was Bouncher trying to be aggressive but now I am wondering whether it is an Elgar thing? SA have a bevy of quality quicks and a couple of quality spinners,so instead of trying to find batsman to give them something to bowl at,they constantly pick a batter short,as well as keep picking players who are clearly below Test class.
Zondo plays for the Dolphins in SA who I follow closely;he isn't even the third best batsman in that side! Should be no where near the Test team.
I am starting to wonder if it is going to eventually effect his bowling output. If Jansen was Australian, he would be at 9 or 10 like Starc. Batting is that level.
Yeah he’s actually been really good this summer tbhStarc's been bowling really well since the WI series
Dropped. Had a poor run of it in Tests for a while but infinitely better than anyone in our top 7 on talent alone. Also, where is Makram? Presume he’s injured cos I can’t imagine him being omitted from this line up
