Not if he bowls the stupid short stuff they seem to want him to bowl.Green should feel right at home bowling on this deck.

Bavuma's record is even worse than I remember. 1 hundred in over 50 games? That's some late 2000s NZ ****
And despite this, only Elgar has either more tons or a higher average than him in the lineup. A putrid batting lineup on paper. The ton on was a real proper road too. Both teams made over 600 in the first innings and declared. Stokes and Amla both made doubles.
Poor Temba, even his moment in the sun made to look worthless. The ton on was a real proper road too. Both teams made over 600 in the first innings and declared. Stokes and Amla both made doubles.
Tatienda Taibu got one (before Bavuma) too, didn't he?Hamilton Masakadza was a better batsman than Bavuma will ever be. He was also the first black African to score a test hundred, a distinction media erroneously gave to Bavuma when he made his ton.
four Zimbabweans did, IIRC - Masakadza, Taibu, Mawoyo and Chakabva.Tatienda Taibu got one (before Bavuma) too, didn't he?
Yeah. Mawoyo and Chibhabha too.Tatienda Taibu got one (before Bavuma) too, didn't he?
And Lance Klusener was the 1st Zulu to score one.four Zimbabweans did, IIRC - Masakadza, Taibu, Mawoyo and Chakabva.
No need to say "on paper". A 3-5 of Rassie,Zondo and Bavuma is a sad state of affairs. Especially since they are all over 30 and not a bunch of youngsters. And despite this, only Elgar has either more tons or a higher average than him in the lineup. A putrid batting lineup on paper.
Still a fair bit of seam movement on offer from what I'm seeing.the pitch has flattened. Green looks medium pace at best and non threatening.
I'm not a big Temba Bavuma fan but people having a go at him is ridiculous in this moment in time , Bavuma before this game has been in decent form in Test Cricket.Hamilton Masakadza was a better batsman than Bavuma will ever be. Veryenne is qualityWeird how there’s so often an otherwise utterly mediocre SA player who proves a road block for Australia. Both these blokes certainly fit that bill.
Standing up for Zimbabweans is kind of my role on this forum sorry.I'm not a big Temba Bavuma fan but people having a go at him is ridiculous in this moment in time , Bavuma before this game has been in decent form in Test Cricket.
His last two years in Test Cricket or last 10 Ten Tests he has scored 696 Test runs @ 46.4 , no hundreds but 5 50's from 19 innings which is fairly consistent ,
most of those knocks have come with SA in serious trouble so most definitely he deserves his place in the squad especially in this batting line up .
Also he's a much better Test batsman than Hamilton Masakadza , Zimbabwe is a much easier place to bat than South Africa and yet Hamilton only averaged 30 in 38 Tests ..
