Pollock is indeed a choker unlike Klusener ?Klusener >> Imran and Kapil

He's more overrated than Akram and Mcgrath and less overrated than BevanIs Ponting also extremely overrated like McGrath, Akram and Bevan?
It really depends on the lineup. If you had another proper bowling option, I wouldn't mind.Klusener >> Imran and Kapil

He is underrated for sure. I think he is the strongest candidate for no.7 along with Imran.Pollock would be my first pick as all rounder in all time ODI XI. He was clearly a superior ODI Bowler to all the other great ODI allrounders, with 393 wickets@24, at a fantastic ER, as a pacer he is only behind McGrath, Garner and Wasim in the history of the game. He also has pretty decent no.s for 7 and below, averaging 30 at 7 and striking at 89. Overall also averages 26+ striking at 85+.
Lol at picking Mcgrath over Garner. Garner is not only a marginally better bowler than Mcrath he is also a significantly better bat.In my all time XI, I would rather have Pollock and Kapil, rather than Pollock and Garner or Kapil and Garner. Both Garner and Pollock belong to the top tier of ODI bowlers, with Garner marginally ahead, but Pollock being a way superior bat is a better combination of skills for me. Kapil I choose, since he is a better ODI bat than Pollock clearly and significantly ahead of Garner, and in the second tier of ODI bowlers. But keeping Garner at 9, Akram at 8 and Pollock at 7 would weaken the batting. Kapil, Pollock, McGrath, Murali, Akram is already a formidable bowling attack, and I don’t want to sacrifice on batting depth just to make the bowling even deadlier, when it can be already be quite quite good with great batting depth simultaneously.
To me Garner, McGrath and Wasim are undroppable. It's like dropping Marshall in an ATG Test XI. The best bowlers just have to be there. In my all time XI, I would rather have Pollock and Kapil, rather than Pollock and Garner or Kapil and Garner. This is an unorthodox way to resolve Dhoni vs Gilchrist. Why would you pick both?It really depends on the lineup. If you had another proper bowling option, I wouldn't mind.
Sachin
Gilly
Viv
Kohli
Dhoni
Shakib/Imran
Klusener
Wasim
Warne
Garner
McGrath
Come on, not the best way to parse themLol at picking Mcgrath over Garner. Garner is not only a marginally better bowler than Mcrath he is also a significantly better bat.
Also neither Pollock nor Kapil as a place in an All time XI
Garner, Warne, Akram, Hadlee + Flintoff/Klusener is a much better attack
Dhoni is good enough as a pure finisher bat to me and the best ever captain (better than Bevan at big hitting). Gilly is terrific as opener and worldclass keeper. Both are WC final champs. Makes complete sense to pick both. This is an unorthodox way to resolve Dhoni vs Gilchrist. Why would you pick both?
Doesn't matter Garner is a better bowler than McgrathCome on, not the best way to parse them
Akram actually has late order hitting ability. He can fit at no.8/9. Garner and McGrath are pure tailenders.Doesn't matter Garner is a better bowler than Mcgrath
If batting doesn't matter then we could leave out Akram tbh.
Wow damn I didn't realise it was that clear cut. Thanks for making me understand.Lol at picking Mcgrath over Garner. Garner is not only a marginally better bowler than Mcrath he is also a significantly better bat.

Good. You've made a post getting multiple things wrong. Kapil's SR of 101.91 in the 80s means he would be striking at 115 in late 90s-early 00s and at 140 in the now. He's not comparable to Klusener. They were very different. You don't pick Kapil at 7 if you have a walking wicket at 8. Hence, I pick him if Wasim is at 8 and Warne is at 9.It's not preposterous at all. People are forgetting Kapil averaged 23 and pretending he's Klusener lite with the bat. Flintoff's batting has the same problem as Imran. So does Shakib. Pollock is an option but also has his issues such as a poor WC record and being too similar to the best bowler in the side.
Comparing Imran and Cairns is lollmao. Reminds me of that time someone said Babar struggles in ODIs like VVS.
They're both world class batsmen, absolutely. Neither look out of place as the wicketkeeper in an ATG side. But by picking both you're suggesting they're in GOAT territory for batting alone, which seems a bit much (for Gilchrist especially I guess). Was Dhoni really better than de Villiers as a pure bat, or Gilchrist better than Lara? Or was Gilchrist on pure batting > Jayasuriya as an allrounder?Dhoni is good enough as a pure finisher bat to me and the best ever captain (better than Bevan at big hitting). Garner even adjusted for eras have a better economy than Mcgrath. Actually even Hadlee and Pollock were better.lmao at significantly better bat
I thought I'd seen it all on CW, but "pick Garner for batting" is a new one. Kudos.
