weighing in where nobody asked as per usual, i think that spark's take is not unreasonable, being that you're hardly the post gestapo (postapo?) if you are just hoping for a really low baseline level of effort in new threads

it's matters of fact and degree right? like obviously if you're demanding multi-paragraph properly grammered essays for a new thread then yeah that'll kill a place but asking for at least a little bit of effort in a new post is no mortal sin

we have done that at times. this isn't a new thing with slippy, as Cribb hinted at this has been a thing for actual years.

Yeah I delete and merge slippy threads all the time. Like, I did this multiple times on a daily basis for years.

I still think this is a better option than banning the bloke but eventually you will blow a #gasket doing it.

When it's a poll between players I kinda think it's okay to not say much in the OP.

But when he just has a thought bubble about a random failed cricketer from 25-35 years ago it should just be a post on his Telegram channel rather than a new CW thread.
