Bugger me. Wellington have Bhula in the 12 again. Line-up ""strengthened"" with Logan van Beek and Peter Younghusband.

T Parkes quickly becoming an integral part of Otago's batting. Their top 7 looks a lot better on paper than it has in recent seasons, though Rutherford and D Phillips haven't scored many so far.

Heh, Wellington have their batting problems but today it's CD 3/3 after 8 overs.

edit: though I reckon both Heaphy and Cleaver were sawn off

Five for Dudding. Hadn't heard of him before. Agree both Heaphy and Cleaver were stiff.

Seifert hits a couple of nice boundaries off Duffy then prods at one away from his body. A couple of years ago McCullum was saying he was better than him at the same age. I thought after that 2019 T20 series opening against India he would become a dominant figure but he seems to have gone backwards.

Seifert was never that good. Brendon found a personal agenda with him, being a short-ass wicketkeeper bat who seemed to have modelled himself on Baz. He's getting near a point where his averages in every format and every level are in the 20s, which is just insanely bad. I will admit though, that through 2019-20 there are probably a few posts from a SteveNZ talking him up, which says it all for his future prospects, really.

Can someone please, PLEASE save my boy Will Young. We're getting into that Simpsons 'he's already dead' meme territory this season.

Note to selectors of all levels: Will Young is a No.4, 3 at best. What we're breeding here is the next James Marshall/Aaron Redmond/Daniel Flynn/Michael Papps.

Nah, Cleaver’s was smashing into leg stump.
I've checked with the domestic review system and, in rock and rolling it with the left/right keys, determined that decked in a long way, struck on leg stump, he's half forward and it's thoroughly missing leg. Marais you're going to have to reverse your original decision, not out.

There've been a few weird last-wicket partnerships so far this PS, but this ter Braak-Lister partnership is approaching a century stand...

edit: that jinx worked extremely quickly

I didn't even notice the ND game, what even is going on there?

We've got some heroics at short leg from a Phillips ensuring Kugglejuggle gets out for a run-a-ball 91, and then a guy who should probably on merit be #11 in this team has wallopped 77*. With the obligatory Duffy-Rippon getting wickets whilst being smashed, naturally.

Then two consecutive deliveries, Fwalker attempting a slog, back to the bowler Dean ("Dylan") Foxcroft who decides each time that some good old South African anger is needed to attempt run outs, but because he's an offie he cannot throw quickly

I assume McKay got injured after bowling four overs, leaving Otago a bowler down. Muller (11 overs) and J Gibson (4 overs) have bowled surprisingly little too, looks like Duffy has decided he and Rippon are going to do it all.

To finish up on the oddities, ND have Kristian Clarke coming in at number 11 for some reason.
