England just too good. They’d have coasted it against Ireland too imo got unlucky with rain. Pretty cool that in the end after all their bashing the tuktuk got them home.

Can't really celebrate full on. Left wondering what would have happened if Pakistan had got through the game without injuries. Suspect it would have been a close, thrilling finish, or reliant on someone hitting out and taking the risk.

In the end you can't say England didn't deserve it, even if you wonder what would've happened if Afridi was able to bowl his full quota. Pakistan's batting just not good enough, they needed everyone to bowl lights out to pinch the win here and while they went close, the Afridi injury and Wasim not doing enough as the 5th bowler hurt.

Was a pretty entertaining game for much of it. Shame it didn't go as tight as it should've.

Congrats butty boys, easily the best team in the tournament. Fair reward for pin point execution with the ball today. Time to enjoy some rum in the bum

Tough loss for Pakistan - who knows if Afridi wasn't injured but in the end they didn't get enough runs and after a few scares we got there.

White ball World Champs in both formats - you can't argue with that.

Congrats, England. The best team in the world but also very undeserving winners.

On a cricketing level, England's only real achievement in white ball cricket before this was being handed a trophy after a match they didn't even win. Now they looked ready to choke a small chase but were handed a huge stroke of luck with the Shaheen injury. They also only beat pathetic teams on the way to the final. England was handed a fake win at the real world cup a few years ago and have now been handed a fake win at a fake world cup.

At the end of the day it's a shame that a cricketing nation rife with institutional racism against Asians (with the most high profile case being a Pakistani origin cricketer) won the game through sheer luck and not skill for the second time. Its also rather unfortunate that England has many cricket fans (both in grounds and on the Internet) that dislike brown people and consider them sub-human. However I have faith that some of these fans can try to be marginally less dire.

Would be pretty **** if Stokes won MOTM here. Up until Iftikhar bowled it really wasn't a good innings at all.
I’m sure he’ll get it being the golden boy and all, but you’d think Curran or Rashid should get it
