I think what we need to remember here is that it's somehow England's fault for scoring runs off the bowlers they've faced

None of this "you can only play the opposition put in front of you" rubbish

I feel so bad for Afridi, he may have nightmares after this. it doesnt come worse than be forced off the field at a critical moment and then watching your team lose from the bench.
It was the previously uninjured knee wasn’t it? Hopefully he’s not out for very long.

Obviously a couple of huge asterisks against this win:

* Fate took Pakistan's best bowler away at a clutch moment. A fact that will have England reluctant to claim this as a win.

* They never got to play last year's champions but instead took a lucky point when the rest of the cricketing community know all too well that Australia would have dominated, taken the points, and replaced England in the semis.
