Apparently he is worth more than I thought... I am doing a quick clear out of some coaching staff, planning to do a bit more cross purpose coaching at lower skill levels.
Guess a case of I presume 2 people really wanting him. I do for his ability it's why I clicked on his profile as I knew one of my sides batting coaches were meh and then I thought I know that name doubled checked it was who I thought it was and indeed its our former player.

I bid 1k with max bid price 2k, then renewed my max bid price for well in excess of that only a couple of hours ago.

Interesting, I'm presuming you mean coaches with decent but not excellent ratings in all departments. Going a bit more structured here going okay but the Charminster training was dreadful only 5 pops this week. Don't see many fielding coaches on the market at all really but if I see any might go for 1 fielding, 1 bowling, 1 batting instead of 2 bowling, 1 batting at present.

Would also force me to rotate players after they have a pop which I haven't done massively until now.

So I currently have 4 coaches... (1) fielding-batting, (2) batting (on sale now), (3) bowling (likely to be sold soon), and (4) a second bowling. I used to rotate between needing 6 spots for batsmen and 6 spots for bowlers and occasionally a fielding coach for my keeper.

With the development of my team where my better players are now getting out of development I am looking to change the structure to 3 coaches only at lower skill levels but maybe more cross-skills.

I think the five options' averages are randomly generated on the spot, and then I'm pretty sure, based on the averages a player is semi-randomly generated (with averages correlating with skills most probably).

I don't think it's anything too complex, but I do think it's a very nice system to establish a sense of anticipation on each and every Wednesday - maybe that's just because I've got lucky though!
Yeah, i agree with you that it is a nice thing- most of us love a free lottery ticket with the chance to win $10m and are still happy if we pick up $1 - that's how this thing works - it also fills up a Stumped day with something different that you look forward to

A while back (I posted in suggestions - without resposne of course) the idea that to add to the pleasure - once you had chosen your youth - the abilities of all the other youths you had rejected were shown (would be very easy to do). You could then pat yourself on the back at your slection or bemona your stupidity! Currently we are always left wondering what the abilities of the others were that we let get away

Psychologically I think a lot of people would get something out of that, i mean you see the concept in many quiz programmes (and here's what you could have won, this is what was in Box b etc etc )

Fielding is a quite nice to have trait in a coach but i couldn't dive into having just a specialised fielding coach at the expense of a BAT/BOWL- So then you start to think about training up their Fielding but of course that then is at the expense of losing them to coaching for a week when they are on a course

However sometimes there are a few windows for this...as your youth team ages you may start to notice that the last 3 slots of 9 are being used on players with a pitiful number of coaching stars left and therefore the short-term sacrifice of a week coaching is a little less painful and relatively less important and is overweighted by a click in your fielding ability which you can use on far older players also

Randomness of stumped strikes again for me… get a really good total on the board but not as good as it could be because my strongest batsmen fail when being aggressive against poorer quality bowling. Opponent has some good early batsmen but I have better quality bowling throughout… his aggression gets rewarded and he chases the total down easily largely because no matter how many miss-hits his batsmen make I struggle to actually take wickets.

I am after CWC6 planning on having a very tight squad. This is the case for both sides but I'll speak about Winton specifically as I'm a bit more certain on who I'll sell and many of the youth players taking over are already at club. Have 4 out and out young seamers plus 3 seam-bowling allrounders (all I'd back to bat in top 7). 1 spinner who I hope to turn into a spin bowling all-rounder, 5 batters and 2 keepers. I'll be looking to the market to upgrade on some of young batters if possible but under current plans that gives us 15, if I'm good at rotating players around will mean only 6/15 training on batting/bowling and they should all be getting plenty of IGT. In an ideal world a batting/fielding coach would be good but not sure I'm willing to sacrifice the time to train one up.

Bleh. Awful results in the SOD for both sides, followed by an awful result for BD

Tbf very little we could have done differently in all 3 games. Maybe ZCC could have chosen to bat first - pitch had less moisture than I expected when setting the lineup - but apart from that wouldn't have done much differently. Very little we could have controlled in all 3 games too. Just not our weekend.

Guys - I have a sense there have been a lot of good youth pulls this season in CWC- if anyone has a super batter or bowler POT 47 or more they are willing to sell then I am certainly interested - I have a coaching space - we could discuss price!

Many thanks

Not on my end unfortunately re POT 47 that I'm willing to sell - I have slightly older players (still DEV) that are close to that requirement - at 46 and 45 potential that I'm selling at end of season but none at 47 potential.

I would add though I'd potentially be interested in any 47 POT bats up for sale.

We reached the halfway stage of CWC6 today.

In the premier division my affiliate Wrath of Kandy had a much-needed win in order to stay in touch with the Top 4. Atara initially gave us a fright by running up 223 off their 40 overs and then having us 11-2. Steady, and then explosive batting from our quartet of young all-rounders though then saw us get across the 5-point marker off the last ball of the 32nd over.

Jura helped Kandy close the gap on 4th place Winton by defeating them in a topsy turvy match. At 32-5 I thought Winton were going to be swept away by us but then my heart sank as I realised Hailstone and Horn were in (regular thorns in our side!). They both made runs and the whole lower and tail order chipped in to bring them to a respectable 138 on a 100% moisture pitch. At 28-3 I thought we were going to be turned over by the Winton boys again this season, but finally Hanley came good, and our keeper Nikesh is now beginning to make useful contributions with the bat in the middle order.

It will now be tough for AtaraX Wellington to make the Top 4 - but (as they showed today) any team can beat another on its day in this league, so those Top 4 slots are all open still.

Very much enjoying this competition as a stand-alone event - as Jura and Kandy continue their snakes and ladders seasons (often coming up and jousting with various of our CWC colleagues in the various leagues and CUP)
