Group 1 (Afghanistan, Australia, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Ireland)

Great win Ireland! Well played lads. England have no one to blame- they had no urgency, rain was always on the cards.

On the disappointing side -I doubt NZ vs Afganistan goes ahead . When is the cut off time?

Not certain England had it in the bag if it didn't rain. Moeen is the king of wasting a good start and getting out for a quickfire 32 or something

Gonna consider it reward for getting more swing than England's bowlers did when they bowled, which was quite surprising with both Woakes and Curran there.

Why are they playing two games on the same day at the MCG? Are they doing this kind of thing all through the tournament? Are they both at the MCG (I'd presume so). This just seems crazy? I don't see the upside.

So the Australia V England game is pretty much a decider for who gets to miss out, I guess. I kind of hope this group turns out very even and all teams win a few and lose a few.

Holy ****! I was going to suggest getting money on Ireland, remembering when they rolled England for 90ish in a test a couple of years back. Didn't seriously entertain the thought of it happening here though!

What I Iove about England is, no matter how bad we are going, they always manage to provide a laugh.
