Well, England are in deep trouble now. Ireland have, so far, outplayed us with bat and ball. More so than in their 2011 win, which was predominantly a one-man show.

MCG has to be one the best T 20 pitches I have ever seen. Maybe could do more for spin but Shadab showed a good Spinner can still play a role, pacers are always in the game and you need a genuine quality player like Kohli to get a decent score. Slog merchants can be kept quite with good pace bowling.

Knowing that, why these guys don't hit flat rather than giving catching practice in the deep, I don't know.

shouldn’t England be favoured in a reduced overs match? They‘re only five runs behind the target right now and the revised target should not be much higher right?

Yeah, we're going to be finished off by the rain now. As you say, they would have known it was coming, so more fools them for being behind on DL.
