What is the higher statistical probability? SA get the last 13 runs or losing wickets...They could have lost wickets.

Uhm Zim knew there could be rain around or didn't they look up or see that the previous game had a the odd very short break.Saf can feel hard done by but i don't think Zim would have batted first if they had an inkling of this kind of weather. it's always an advantage to field first in such truncated encounters so that it may not be such a bad idea to do the toss again if necessary keeping in mind that it will be a 9 over game now.
Going by that logic you might as well not even play the game in the first place and just award the win to South Africa. What is the higher statistical probability? SA get the last 13 runs or losing wickets...
They were ahead of the 5 over par score. What was the DLS par score for South Africa to chase if they reduced the 9 over game to a 5 over game?
If it was under 51, then I agree that they should have just been awarded the win. That's common sense. Bit ridiculous if that didn't happen tbh.
If it was more than 51, and SA were just ahead of the 3-over par score but had not crossed the 5 over target yet, then yea abandoned is the right move. You have to account for the (incredibly unlikely) possibility that SA score 0 runs in the next 2 overs and finish below the target.
This is what I meant in my earlier post.5 over par score is a different thing to the 5 over target. The par score changes with wickets lost.
The creators of DLS are saying once the target is eclipsed, then a winner can be decided if it's not possible to play the minimum overs in the second innings.
Was pissing down a bit earlier. Not sure I rate the chances of the game finishing, awful day.Any posters near the SCG able to shed light on whether SA are about to be screwed again?
They're only selected because they're captains, but they're hardly Brearley anyway. It's quite ridiculous that Finch and Bavuma are selected much less captains of their respective sides. Pretty weak from the selectors/boards and it's putting someone elses career on hold.
Have a giggle at the silly IPL men who spend money on Finch, played for 9 teams and stunk it out for all of them. It's quite ridiculous that Finch and Bavuma are selected much less captains of their respective sides. It makes a lot more sense when you consider the sort of ODIs they win and how they do it. They thrive in old school type games on slow deck where 265 is par. They bowl okay in T20 sometimes but they just don't have the power batting. It is strange how Bangladesh are a pretty decent ODI side, but really struggle in T20s.
Same for the next game? Was pissing down a bit earlier. Not sure I rate the chances of the game finishing, awful day.
