Yuss. Marsh probably the batsman most scared of.

What alternate reality are we living in where Boult has 2 overs 0/17 and Southee 1.5 overs 2/6 in a T20 against Australia?

If only Australia had a world class batsman in the squad who has scored runs in difficult conditions everywhere and can play basically every type of bowling in all kinds of conditions while other blokes have a slog around him

That's horrible from Marsh. Southee bowled the same ball twice in a row and he ****ed up playing both of them. Didn't learn.

Like if we had India's level of batting depth then I could definitely see why you'd leave him out. But compared to the blokes we're actually picking, and the sort of output they've put out over the last six months...

Said it before, this Aus T20 team is hugely overrated and are plateauing.
Finch should have been gone after the last WC, there's no way Cummins is a T20 bowler and leaving out Ellis is outrageous. That guy is all class and bowl a great in the death overs

Could use the insurance for sure, at least in situations like this. Don't have to use him the way NZ sent out KW when Conway was already out there.

Agree with this completely. BBL teams would beat this Aus unit half the time.

Finch isn't close to international quality anymore. Nor is David and he never will be. Stoinis lost it 2 years ago. Starc hasn't swung a ball in 2 years. Cummins is a better T20 batsman than he is a bowler. Zampa is a useful bowler but might as well be a cardboard cut-out in the field.

Warner, Marsh, Wade, Haze and Maxwell are the only ones who should be in the set-up.

Also Agar seems to be really underused tbh and not trusted in tournaments. Really good cricketer. Zampa always seems to bowl better with him and I think they compliment each other well

Zampa is genuinely awful in the field but you have to pick him, he's the only consistently competent LO spinner Aus have had since... god, Brad Hogg? To the point that they didn't even bother with proper spinners by the mid-2010s.

The trouble is we don't know our batting (or bowling really) depth because we insist on sticking with people who simply aren't doing the job and not giving anyone else a good run.

It's like England in tests when they talk about the cupboard being bare when they keep going to people who've failed time and time again. Opening the cupboard is a good start.
