The greatest cricketers from the subcontinent - how would you rank them?

Kohli, if he rediscovers himself is a shout too.
He's behind Sanga, Miandad, Younis Khan, Dravid, and Sehwag at the moment (plus a few spinners), although ahead of MoYo and Jayawardene, so would need to finish well.

Pant and Bumrah might finish ahead Kohli amongst subcontinent players.

Shame Rashid Khan plays almost zero tests. It would be good to know how far he could go.

Gavaskar vs Wasim, I'd go for Gavaskar.

Murali vs Tendulkar is much harder.
Gavaskar being the greatest opener ever after Hobbs probably means more than Akram being the greatest left armer.

Tendulkar vs Murali, I may go for Tendulkar ever so slightly simply because it took Murali until around a decade before his greatness was established

Well there are more openers than left armers to start with.

Tendulkar had a long plateu like career with minimum ups and downs. Murali generally had an OK career, while he was not having that ridiculous Imran like bowling peak for about 6 - 7 years. Comes down to what you like more.

Only one could make the team if you need two ARs. But I'd prefer only one.

Gavaskar
Shewag / Anwar
Sangakkara
Tendulkar
Dravid
Y. Khan
Imran
PJ / Dhoni
Wasim
Murali
Waqar

would be my team. Bumrah is very close to break in to that group, and probably will replace Waqar.

Imran is the clear cut best for me atleast

followed by Tendulkar , then Murali slightly behind

Wasim also just slightly behind Murali and SRT

I'll break the norm and say Dev should come after wasim , then Gavaskar and then Sangakkara.

Dev is a hard one to rank.

5. Kumar Sangakkara
6. VVS Laxman
7. Farooq Engineer ( Wk )
