I always think Swepson can bat better than he really can after watching him make 70-odd in a 50-over game for Queensland. But then I look at his stats and they're pretty bad

Yeah this is why I don't really like it. Most teams will happily give you 1 single an over because frustration will lead to the wicket before long. Would much rather some risks being taken.

There's enough in the wicket for the spinners that Aus will be happy with this score, especially getting to bowl last. Lyon could be on for another big haul

From watching the last hour or so runs look tricky to come by.
364 more than a good score, even more so if Sri Lanka bat anywhere near as bad as the other day. Surely though they can't bat as poorly as that again.

A couple blokes got good balls early but pretty ordinary batting effort from every non-TPC/Labu batsman in the team. They need bringing back to Earth a bit, you can't just always go out there be ultra-aggressive against spin in the subcontinent or sweep/reverse sweep everything and expect consistent success. Glenn Maxwell's ton in India in 2017 is a great example. He didn't treat it like an ODI and bat like a maniac, he ground it out waiting for the chances to score. If he can rein himself in from being overly attacking then anyone can. Real shame he's being wasted on the bench in this series.

The articles after the first Test claiming they'd figured out how to be successful in the subcontinent were cringe beyond belief, as if no one had ever had the idea to play the sweep shot before.
