They were duped by the look of the pitch....dropping Motie was warranted in a way because he didn't pick up any wicket in the previous test. But, I would have persisted with him. He's a specialist spinner, and possibly a better batsman than some of the top-order guys we have.See to me this doesn't look like it has that much in it. Admittedly overhead conditions mean it isn't swinging and that could change.
But not playing Motie and batting second could be a mistake. Let's see.

I did think that was a strange shot given the time of the match. Playing on the up like that seemed silly.****ing great ball from Phillip.
Meanwhile Joy will remain in my good books for a while longer given the character he showed during his two overseas tons but I'm just not convinced by his technique. Plays everything from the crease and too often looks like he's nowhere near it, particularly front foot shots.
Our over rate is poor as always.
[/QUOTEWe haven't even got Shannon in the side anymore, so we don;t have any excuses
I initially thought that this was a 250 wicket....but it's looking more like a 350 one.I think this is going to dry out into a very good pitch. If Bangladesh play their cards right they could put us under pressure at a venue we always lose at.
