Feeling like we might be needing Mitchell and Blundell to dig us out of this one again... Conway not looking secure

I'm beginning to lean towards the idea that this isn't really much of a road, it's just both teams bowled dross in the first innings and caught terribly. Boult and Anderson excepted (which kinda lends credibility to the theory)
The catching the big thing, it is a great value for your shots wicket with bullet outfield but you drop test match batsmen 9 times across two innings that had got to be a couple hundred runs at least.

It is a road with the older ball though

True though Boult was getting a lot of swing with a 40-over old ball this morning.

Think it's a good plan to have a leg slip and other leg side catchers to Conway, and don't think he likes it one bit. Has been caught down the leg side many times even without those.

I guess that tricky little pre-lunch period went about as well as we could have hoped - apart from Latham's brain fart.
Yeah, played decently took advantage of the full balls and always have to ride your luck as an opener.

They're actually discussing dropping Young and retaining Macewell.

Kill me.
The commentators?? Were they talking about Conway opening? I'd rather bring back Ajaz, Wagner, and Williamson for Macewell, Henry, and Jamieson and get Mitchell to bowl more.

On the radio I've been listening to Jeremy Coney's rugby stories.

Yes. It was insane.

Assuming KJ is dead, the next test is pretty easy to select.

Latham
Young
Williamson
Conway
Nicholls
Mitchell
Blundell (wk)
Southee
Wagner
Ajaz
Boult
