I really like Mitchell as a cricketer. Looks like a quiet achiever who's had to prove himself. No histrionics and doesn't seem to crave attention which is a real positive imo. I really admire players who start to get a grasp of there game in there late 20s (i.e Hussey, Van Der Dussen, Trott) and flourish

Just switched on to see NZ coasting along very nicely on what appears to be a pretty friendly batting track and assumed it was a good toss for them to win. Until it transpired that Stokes won the toss and chose to bowl. Do we have any clue why he thought that might be a good idea?

NZ would have bowled too had they won the toss.

Astonishing. But the day's play has still made a mockery of Stokes' decision unless he's been badly let down by his bowlers.
Both sides seemed to think the ball would do a bit early. It didn't, looked flat from the first over.

England's bowling and, especially, fielding hasn't been blameless though.

Following up that feel good win with a questionable call at the toss, lacklustre bowling , weird plans and dreadful catching. That’s England for you.

It’s so hard to see England coming back from a bad day in the field. When they get bowled out for not much it always still feels like they have a chance.
