Blackcaps were 19/6 in their practice match the other day, much better placed here, looks like that wee workout really helped.

Oh I get the pitch stuff but I'd have thought in general seam > swing when both are in play. England especially should since their two best do both.
I've switched from being a swing bowler to bowling seam now because it moves later, yeah. It seemed important given I bowl at a glacial pace.

I feel like a **** every time I do it. There's just no art to it.

It’s really going to depend if “like for like” means spinner for spinner or SLA for SLA.

Moeen is not like for like because he is an all rounder. As much as I love Leach he isn’t. Will have to be Parkinson, Bess or Dawson.
I was wondering about that too. I think that adhering to the spirit of the law means that Dawson comes in.

Yeah, this is what you get when you have mickey mouse warmup games that take all intensity out of the game. Guys that just aren't quite switched on to competitive cricket.

I think its tough when you can see the shape of the game. I wouldn't like to see Dawson or Ali pulled in as they would add too much to the batting - Bess also. One of the Parkinsons would seem fairer in the circumstances or Virdi, or the young Afghan lad in Kent if they need someone who can race there quickly.
