CW's Ranking of All-Rounders (Tests)

Whatever it takes!!!
'Ravindra' appears in many articles as does an even more abbreviated version (Ravi). You know who he is so don't be so pedantic. How would it be if every Geoff insisted on Geoffrey, Tony demanding Anthony or Bob wanting Robert. It is common for shortened versions of names to be accepted in general use. How come you didn't complain when Sir Garfield appeared as Garry Sobers? Do you want Ben Stokes listed as Benjamin?
The south Indian style of names, esp. in Tamilnadu where he is from, is to have the father's name as the first name. His father's name is Ravichandran. Its just a coincidence that Ravi is a shorter way of saying both Ravichandran and Ravindra and many other names that start with Ravi. They are very common in India coz Ravi is the name of the Sun God and there are many variations of that name.

Incidentally, the second part of the name "Chandran" actually means the Moon God. So his father's name is basically sun and moon.

Yeah, Ravindra is a mistake and the websites using that are dumb

Anyway, vote for Richie Benaud

Ravindra is not an abbreviated version of Ravichandran, it's like having George as an abbreviation for Geoffrey.

(It's all a bit pedantic in the end anyway, but Ravindra is not correct all in all.)

Who else is left out? Holder, Benaud and?
Based on ICC peak ratings, we've still not chosen four of the all time top 20 - Benaud, Holder, Davidson and McMillan.

Add to that there's also Reid, Vettori, Woolley, Rhodes, Bailey, Kelleway, Watson and maybe a handful of others I've not thought of.

Yes, Ravindra and Ravichandran are two totally different names with just the first 4 letters being common. Its like calling Marcus Harris as Markram Harris.

But calling them both Ravi in short form is fine.

I'll pick Holder for this round then. Honestly not a bad list so far really (even if Jadeja was angry earlier at not being voted earlier ).

He is rated just about right here. He actually took offence to the spinner ranking he got.
