Not in modern era, or since 92. Have not often had a single spinner of quality never mind two.

Both Harmer and Maharaj are 33ish... hopefully they can give a few more years and we can get another spinning youngster in this time.

Yeah, but he is the only genuine quality batting allrounder in the country... I would be giving him lots of rope. He has not actually had a consecutive decent test run yet.

Some of the older guys haven't done badly recently. If they're good then it is not a bad idea to persist with them while they are still of some use. Erwee, vdd, Verreyne, Harmer all egs of it.
