This is a very common thing to do in park cricket tbh. More fool the fielding side for not looking at which leg the bloke's outside thigh pad was on.

Was going through old HK club cricket scorecards and came across this gem:

All 10 batters out for ducks! The not out batter was on 0 too, 23 all out with 23 wides! A Women's T20 league game from 2015. Lol.

Decent figures there for Subhadra Bandyopadhyay, must have done wonders for her season stats.

A record that it's no surprise to see is held by James Anderson:
Most gaps in a Test career (i.e. most runs of consecutive Tests missed between a player's first and last Tests):
25: JM Anderson (Eng)
21: JB Statham (Eng)
20: Harbhajan Singh (Ind)
19: I Sharma (Ind)
18: S Chanderpaul (WI), Z Khan (Ind)
17: CRD Fernando (SL), MA Starc (Aus), CR Woakes (Eng), SCJ Broad (Eng)

Another record that it's slightly surprising to see is *not* held by James Anderson, but which he would break if picked again:
Most matches (for that player's country) spanned by a player's Test career:
244: DB Close (Eng)
240: JM Anderson (Eng)
217: SR Tendulkar (Ind)
205: S Chanderpaul (WI)
202: GA Gooch (Eng)
194: MC Cowdrey (Eng)
193: RT Ponting (Aus)
189: SR Waugh (Aus)
185: FJ Titmus (Eng)
184: HMRKB Herath (SL), JH Kallis (SA)

Close missed 222 of those 244 matches, a record that'll be hard to beat: Gareth Batty (161) is a distant second, followed by Pat Pocock (145).

Most spells (i.e. runs of consecutive Tests) in a Test side:
26: JM Anderson (Eng)
22: JB Statham (Eng)
21: Harbhajan Singh (Ind)
20: I Sharma (Ind)
19: S Chanderpaul (WI), Z Khan (Ind)
18: CRD Fernando (SL), MA Starc (Aus), CR Woakes (Eng), SCJ Broad (Eng)
i'm a bit confused by this right... when you say most runs of consecutive tests do you mean like

played, played, then dropped, then played, then played, then played, dropped, dropped, dropped, dropped, played, played, dropped, played, played, then this is "four spells"?

Yes. I've re-labelled it "most gaps in a Test career" (and subtracted 1 from each of the numbers) as I think that's clearer.

How many of us would get to watch the bicentenary test? I'll be 85
I started a thread asking this question a few years ago and some people threw a paddy thinking I was trying to secretly find out how old they are. As if anyone can help when they were born. :tooth:

But no I don't expect to see it. Though at some point, and not impossible for it to be during my lifetime, someone will work out how to slow and down and reverse the aging process. Then Imran and Border's much heralded longevity will be thrown in the bin.

And Tendulkar will come back to notch up 200 more games
