CW's Ranking of Pace Bowlers (Tests)

Credentialed members? What are their credentials?

And relax friend, this is an internet forum, people are allowed to post their opinions and if you think that any of the guys I listed in my top 10 don't have an argument to be there then you know very little about the game you are apparently credentialed in.

Plus the only people offended seem to be those who have an agenda.

but the vote is interesting and at most a fun read, so there's that. I like this thread.
Credentials? Following the game they love, researching stats, reading about players past and present and, in my case, playing almost 300 games at a respectable level (including opening the bowling with a Test bowler) and umpiring over 150 games.

Where have I argued against your top 10? The point is this is a voting thread and you vote for players rather than muddy the waters with opinionated personal lists.

Agenda? Apart from pushing for a particular player, very few have an agenda. What was your agenda when you posted a list in opposition to the list being voted for? Sure, this is an internet forum and members are allowed to post their opinions. Had you simply commented on the position of players on the voting list I would have no problem. But imagine if every member posting on this thread posted their own individual list? The thread would simply become a confused mass of lists which buried the original.

I like the thread too and would prefer to read your opinions on individual positions rather than analysing a conflicting list.

Better average, better strike rate, bowls with the old ball, similar average home and away, Sri Lanka is the only side he averages more 30 against.
But Southee has much better figures once he got going. He had to play while he was average at the start, whereas Wagner is one of those players who only got selected while they were in a purple patch and then dropped until things suited them again.

No, Wagner had a terrible 2012 tour of the Windies when he started.

Those are all fair point but no idea why you were so angry. On forums, people post lists all the time and if you ACTUALLY READ my post, you'll see why I posted what I posted and then commenced to join the vote.

Let's say you woke up on the wrong side of the bed and leave it there. Water under the bridge.

Wonder how far is Morne Morkel from selection, He did bowl the unlucky length but still think he was very tough to face and has very decent figures.

So anyway -

Morne Morkel.

Above Gillespie? Gillespie had the same fame of bowling the unlucky length and being difficult to face.

I was gonna go for him next or thereabouts , Morkel does have ~50 extra wickets. Many people also consider McDermott better than Gillespie.

tbf, I wouldn't mind any of them in either order. Just that they should be close to being named.

What is the reasoning of Wagner over Southee?
There's really nothing between them for me - I suppose I'm leaning toward Wagner as a fellow member of the Brotherhood Of Left-Arm Quicks. I should probably get on the Johnson/Boult/Vaas trains for the same reason.
