kumble getting choked up a bit in an interview

he apparently helped him with some net session before some adelaide test after he had been droppedfro a brisbane test

india won the adelaide test apparently

how did he get along with kumble of all people lmao. aus missed out on having him as captain it seems
Just read a passage of his Warne's autobiography where he talks about teaching Mushtaq Ahmed how to bowl a flipper between tests. Apparently Mushtaq came out and took 9 in the next one with surprised Aussie batsmen musing about how "Mushy's got a flipper now".

Lol that’s so old school. Lillee taught Malcolm Marshall how to bowl a leg cutter on an early tour here, apparently. Not something for which subsequent Aus batsmen were especially grateful.

Whats with the broken ass English in the translation.. atleast it got the gist of what he was saying.

Warne was a believer in Jadejas talent at a time when he was looked at as a bit of a joke. Must've hit him hard.

Used to call him rock star and always hyped him. :( Remember Warne saying he knew Jadeja was going to be big in his first IPL season.

What’s he had to say ffs?
Was asked by a TV anchor in a Warne tribute segment with Haigh whether he rated Warne as the greatest spinner. He said nah, Murali was better (which is fair enough I guess) and a few Indian spinners too (lol). Justified it by bringing up his poor record v India. Seemed a bit tasteless and kept going on about it too. Spent a good minute or two on the subject. Haigh seemed a bit annoyed too.

Hardly shocking from a prick like him tbh.

Was there a comment down the line that his heart couldn't take the king like life style?

Cheers.

It’s amazing so classy a player can be so classless a human.

Sunny saying Murali was better is fine, but saying Kumble was better is dumb. I’d argue Warne was better than Murali, but that’s for another day to anyone who can vaguely read a room. Surely a day after the bloke’s death you could have a bit of decorum and say something like “whether he is the absolute best is debatable, but he certainly belongs among the best three”. Or whatever.

Quite.

It'd be like if Sachin died and some ex cricketer went on TV to and brought up his failures in world cup finals or something. Insensitive af.

I hope the higher ups at a Fox cricket are looking after Isa Guha because she is understandably very fragile rn. Barely holding it together. She plainly loved the bloke.

It’s all so sad.

I was thinking, You know as well why warney was so well liked. He’d be out banging super models, playing on stage with Coldplay, but he still seems so relatable. Still enjoying pies and VBs. He wasn’t an aloof Hollywood star. He was worth 50 million but still chewing a meat pie out the back. He didn’t become aloof like Michael Clarke and pretend to be someone else

Read something today about how generous guys like Warne & Botham were with their time & advice to young players

Aside from wanting to help others, one of the reasons offered is that they are so comfortable with their own position in the game that they felt no one could do it as well as them anyway

Can believe that
