then he tried to pin it all on the change of ends, as if that made any ****ing difference, rather than o'keefe being absolutely lab-made for those pitches
worst part was he didn't even just say it once, repeated it every time he took a wicket

Got around to watching the documentary "Shane" and while I enjoyed it there's no doubt it is a puff piece of the highest degree. Nothing was ever his fault and the media always misunderstood the situation.

Best part was when it went to the obligatory "dark" place where Warney finally did something wrong (cheating on his wife, divorce) and it still came across as though he was subtly bragging about being caught with 2 women at the same time while pretending to be admitting to his faults

I didn't know this existed. Sounds hilarious.

I watched it the other day, it's absolute crap. I wouldn't recommend anyone who's read any Warne books, followed his career etc to go anywhere near it. Nothing new apart from talking to people who don't offer a hell of a lot - why I need to hear from bloody Ray Martin and Ed Sherrin about Shane Warne - and a lot of other tosh of Warne trying to justify why he did a lot of what he did. Lame.

There should be a Warne documentary all about his bowling. Breaking down the technique, every variation, how it developed during his career. Interviews with batsmen about what they tried to do when they faced him. At the end they ask someone ‘and what was he like as a bloke?’ then immediately roll the credits.

Maybe time to ban this thread from cricket web I think
**** off......don't you get all sanctimonious after your horrendous post in the other thread.

Edit:

Don't think there's anyone here that doesn't understand that Warne was a very flawed human (as we all are tbh) he lived his life to the full and ****ed up more than most, but achieved more than all but a few.

There's is nothing wrong with this thread, it shouldn't be a focus right now but it's still part of Warne's legacy......the genius, the bad and the ugly. But it's all part of the package we're all mourning today.

No reason for the thread to be shut imo

His death is horrible obviously, but it doesn't change the fact that he was a creepy dick (as denoted in thread title)

Let’s be honest it’s partly because threads like this exist that his departure is front page news. He transcended sport. Without going overly morbid I doubt Glenn McGrath would inspire such a reaction, for example.

Warne was everything a rock and roll star should be, except he was a spin bowler.

He owned his flaws completely though. That’s what made him Warne.
Fmd you get canceled for whistling at someone these days, and fair enough. This bloke was a serial philanderer and *** pest but not only got away with it but owned it completely.

there are few people who compartmentalise their lives as well as Warne. In 05 his marriage was falling apart, he was in his room each night bawling and he went out each day and was a one man army.

Never been a more compelling cricketer. You had to watch. For better or worse.
