Shane Warne dead at 52

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Holy ****, not the news I was expecting to wake up to. Never liked his personality, but he was an absolute legend, one of the standout characters of the game and of course a bloody brilliant bowler.

Saw his name in a Reddit headline and was wondering what he had done; surely he couldn't have died but sadly it was so.

Trying to think of cricketers of his stature who died at a younger age: Marshall, Trumper, can't think of too many others.

RIP

My 2 favourite sports are cricket and rugby union. In the last week Ramadhin (who at least had a good innings), Marsh, Warne, Tuigamala, and Vidiri have all passed away. Crazy times.

Wow flabbergasted by that news.

Love him or hate him, has there been any bigger more colourful character in the game in the last 30 years or even ever?

RIP to the man.

Doesn't seem real. Too many are dying I'm their 50s nowadays. 60 isn't even right.

One of the most fun players to play the game. RIP Warnie.

**** me no no no no no i can't, i don't, 52!!

warnie was my first ever favourite cricketer, the reason i always bowled shitty legspin in backyard cricket and the reason i bowl shitty legspin in games today. my dad would, and always still does say that it's warnie's world and we're just living here, such was the command he had of not just a cricket field, also of the hearts and minds of you watching - very few could draw you in and have you on the edge of your seat like that whether it be his on the park efforts or his exploits off of it. a legend. a king. too soon, too soon.

Like most of his deliveries I didn’t see that one coming. He certainly made you laugh or cry … I think that was greatest attribute. He made you feel. He got you emotional.

First test match I ever went to was 2005 Ashes Old Trafford were he got the 600th wicket. Probably the most historic sporting moment I'll ever see. Doesn't seem real.
