Partly correct. Toughest conditions in South Africa can have the combination of lateral movement of the UK/NZ and steep bounce of Australia, that's where batting gets very hard. Of course there are plenty of featherbeds in South Africa too.Dravid - "South Africa is a tough place for batsmen. These two are quality players and it's only a matter of time before they find their gear again."
Pant has given his wicket multiple number of times like that by trying to attack.Bit too risky the way they're bowling. Trying to force anything now could just result in another wicket.
Probably best to survive these spells and try to step up a gear when the change bowlers come on.
Yeah but their techniques have been pathetic though.Partly correct. Toughest conditions in South Africa can have the combination of lateral movement of the UK/NZ and steep bounce of Australia, that's where batting gets very hard. Of course there are plenty of featherbeds in South Africa too.
"it was their most essential command" ?"hits the ball along the ground" for a top-edged one bounce four
What would you do different technically to avoid any of the dismissals in this test?Yeah but their techniques have been pathetic though.
It's just that Dravid is not the guy to pull the plug on them and it appears neither is Kohli. It has to come from the selectors or Ganguly I believe.
Don't even joke about it, you'll hurt some people's feelings here.pitch isn't fit for Test batting tbh. call off the game
if not your's then who's?Don't even joke about it, you'll hurt some people's feelings here.
Rahane is cooked. Pujara I can agree to an extent as he still gives the impression he can find his way back but I wouldn't be complaining If he is off too. What would you do different technically to avoid any of the dismissals in this test?
Even looking at their recent struggles - Che's main issue has been finding ways to score - which he seemingly has resolved going off his last couple of innings - and Rahane's issues are around shot selection, which still persist.
Pant's better off still playing his shots, as long as they are reactive and not pre-meditated. He looks bad when he's attacking balls seemingly for the sake of attacking them, and not because it's the right shot to play. The couple of boundaries he got off Rabada were decent shots. He keeps doing that while surviving the good balls then we're fine.
I agree but I don't think the issue is technique. Rahane's issues are all mental. He finds ways to get out.Rahane is cooked. Pujara I can agree to an extent as he still gives the impression he can find his way back but I wouldn't be complaining If he is off too.
Yeah same with Kohli too. He took his bottom hand off as the ball was going to crash on to the stickers and he said Kohli controlled his bottom hand nicely. While the ball looped in the air for quite some time. I think Sunny exaggerates immensely when the likes of Kohli is playing."Look how he rolls his wrists and plays it along the ground" - S. Gavaskar c. 2022 as R. Pant plays a loopy barely in control aerial pull
What is Sunny actually smoking
Sounds like new-age bullshit, but good balls tend to follow you when you haven't done yourself many favors at other times.I agree but I don't think the issue is technique. Rahane's issues are all mental. He finds ways to get out.
Today he got a good ball, and IIRC he got a good ball in the first innings too. Wouldn't want to hold this game against him. But he has played poor shots and thrown his wicket away needlessly quite a lot lately.
Not that satisfied any more as India are looking in deep trouble. On a scale of 1 to satisfaction, I'm about a 12Sure, are you fully satisfied now?
Whatever the attack/conditions, I believe Indian batsmen have a ceiling of 325 runs(250 away from home)Nortje on this wicket would have been unholy terror. Concussions galore.
My bad! Yep, enough time in the game for a result then....add to that yet another subpar batting performance from goat batting unitday 2
The ones who are not OK talking about the pitch unless the game is in Asia.if not your's then who's?
