I’m thoroughly enjoying the Fox commentators apart from Warne. Loud and obnoxious

Apparently Warne's fascination with bagging Starc might hark back to a comment made in 2012 when Warne touted a potential (and possibly not serious) comeback as Australian spinner. Starc said Warne had had his time and Lyon was their spinner now. I mean, it's not like Warne to hold a grudge, or bang on about it repeatedly if he does, but I would not be surprised. His ego won't let him believe everyone doesn't think he is as great as he does.

This isn't their brand? I am influenced by that Simpsons episode where Sideshow Bob runs for mayor

Warne believes that deep down everyone is as limited a person as he is. He literally cannot comprehend that other people, like Starc, aren't wired like him.

Friend of mine knows Warne reasonably well & tells me that he’s a really nice guy who’s incredibly generous with his time for virtually anyone who asks

He’s definitely different but that’s generally a hallmark of all greats in any field

I'm sure he's absolutely fine in person but his influence on Australian cricket - inflated, it must be said, by the media, independent of what he does - is not a positive one at this point

**** I'm reminded.

How good was O'Keefe making him taste it at Pune when he'd spent the previous few days just shitting all over him. That was infinitely better than any tasting Starc could ever inflict on the spin king.

then he tried to pin it all on the change of ends, as if that made any ****ing difference, rather than o'keefe being absolutely lab-made for those pitches

The one time both India and Australia fans were united in their hatred of a common enemy.
