The media should really stop calling our medium pacers a ‘pace attack’, ‘decided to go all out with pace’ , ‘the fast men’ and this sort of stuff. Pace is 140 kph and above and express is 150 kph and above. We don’t have anyone in the current side who currently operates at those speeds - Trent goes above 140 at times and that’s it. Tim is what they call ‘military medium’ and there should be no shame in calling a spade a spade and referring to the NZ attack as ‘seamers’ or ‘a group of medium pacers’. Doesn’t sound as exciting but it is more accurate. Ebadot seems to regularly operate at above 140 so he can genuinely be called a paceman. Taskin gets it up around there regularly as well, though not quite to the same extent.

Would the headline ‘Bangladesh seamers licking their lips at prospect of Hagley green pitch’ be so very far from the truth(?) I imagine Ebadot would be flushed with confidence right now and ready to let rip in friendly conditions.

Wasim and Waqar used to get reverse swing here in the mid-90's? An example at 8 mins 41 seconds of this clip where Rod Latham gets his middle stump dislodged.

Who's ever going to forget the Wasim, Waqar bowling at Seddon park. They were amazing. Still those days balls were not as much checked like these days. Despite that those two were very skilled and a great combo.

Another toss loss but I'm more comfortable with a toss loss on this deck. Even if we get shot out quickly we still have a chance to come back with the ball.

Everything falling in place for Bangladesh, the toss, the weather, can they make early inroads and put black caps under some pressure? Been reading on Cricinfo some of our guys haven't scored a big one for quite some time. Hopefully today.
