In 20/20 hindsight yeah. Pre-series I thought he should have been in the squad for this particular game but wasn't distraught our fat little champion was left out for a holiday season series.

I'd never play him at Hagley Oval though, especially since he is short and skiddy.

Rachin is coming into the team to replace Santner's role.

In my humble opinion, Santner is more of a bowling all-rounder whereas I'd class Rachin as a Batsman who bowls part-time spin. Two different profiles, but the selectors wrongly I'd suggest are trying to turn Rachin into something he's not. If you want to select him for the national team, play him in the role he plays domestically. He's not a front-line bowler. Especially as if I look at Rachin's recent first-class games for Wellington, he hardily got a bowl with Michael Bracewell taking the spin duties.

I believe Daryl Mitchell is being treated harshly as he's done superbly since his introduction and should be in the side.
