Normal pitches aren't really a thing sorry that you're wrongYeah too bad NZC seem as clueless as you about it.
I meant letting the groundsmen do their thing without asking for something. For all his issues as a coach, Kumble ensured this happened and the Indian side was better for it. I think Dravid is continuing that now. Something NZ should also do given the rich talent at their disposal right now.Normal pitches aren't really a thing sorry that you're wrong
If it's 'a problem with fitness', I think that's harsh. If you are bowling heat then you can expect to pick up more injuries. Doesn't mean that fast bowlers don't get picked globally, they do. It just means that a realistic attitude is required. It's almost as if it's viewed that Ferguson 'let everybody down' through his unfortunate injury in Perth. Cricketers get inured: could be from punching a bat or straining a side, but it happens. Getting injured trying to bowl heat for your country is actually meritorious rather than something you should be punted for.I know NZ had looked at Ferguson in Tests before, is he just ignored now? Or does he also have problems with fitness for red ball cricket?
I suspect it will be a point of conversation in the media in coming weeks. Ferguson has had a lot of injury worries of late and it would’ve been impossible to have left any of the front 4 out on the basis of their performances over the last 12 months. But man it would’ve been great to have him to call on after the Bangerz got through the 2nd new ball unscathed.I know NZ had looked at Ferguson in Tests before, is he just ignored now? Never said I wasn't. Our batsmen are largely to blame tbf, absolutely complacent and disrespectful effort. No seriously, I'm not one for baiting our Trans-Tasman neighbours.
But this must be staggeringly bad for NZ supporters. You come off the great highs of last year and dish up this dross at home vs a minnow. There is no place for "oh well, they aren't that bad a side, I suppose." That sort of attitude is a recipe for long term mediocrity. You need to be disgusted with what your lads dished up, because these days NZ fans are entitled to expect a lot better than this.
ModsCongratulations Bangladesh ,it was a pretty one-sided match. Totally dominated NZ in their den. #Fakechampion lol
I don't think we've ever asked for pitches, could be wrong though, one of the other nerds on here would know.I meant letting the groundsmen do their thing without asking for something. Even if, big if, Bangers take a 50 run lead, they will concede like 400 in the 3rd innings and get rolled for 150 on final day to lose by 200 runs! Thats what they always do. They will crumble soon, if not tomorrow then on day 5.
There comes the all too familiar Banglallapse.
It’s going to turn into a thrashing in the end for sure.

NZ can still win this match. All that's required is two sessions to bowl at the Bangers on Day 5!
The few of you calling my posting dire when I am being proved right when all I was stating was the most likely scenarios based on Bangla history and recent form!
All this fight by Bangladesh means nothing when they cannot even get themselves a draw overseas! They have shown same kind of fight for around 20 years now and it has NOT amounted to anything ever! There's never ever been any proper progress. They take 2 steps forward, then 3 back. They always throw it away/get found out at the end.
Even 100 may not be enough.
The pitch is a road atm. NZ can easily get 350+ in 100 overs and give themselves a bit over 2 sessions to bowl them out.
NZ will bowl with much increased intensity and will give it their all, so anything is possible. I have seen bigger teams crumble on day 5 in nz, not necessarily due to the pitch.
Score 380 in 95-100 overs by approx Lunch tomorrow, setting 250+ to get in 60 overs.
Still reckon Nz can win this! Get bowled out with lead of 160+. And then roll Bangers over!
Nz will get bowled out with lead of 150+, and then have a decent chance of rolling Bangers over. Bangers are more likely to panic and choke than chase down 150+
???Nz gonna turn this around and win tomorrow. Can you really see Bangladesh chasing down anything over 140? in the final innings in the final sessions with stakes sooo high with Nz bowling with crazy intensity and barely conceding runs! (Remember Nz was going at <1.5 runs per over in couple of the sessions earlier). Bangers may fail to even chase 125!
Batting-wise NZ still has Taylor, Ravindra, Jamieson, Wagner, Souther and Boult who can all contribute sufficiently with the bat to at least draw if not set up a possible win!
I'm eating raw fish right nowIts ok, NZ were just undercooked^TM
Nah, didn't mean to be harsh here or punch down on him, just wondering why he's not been picked in recent times. You're totally right that injuries happen, I mean Indian fans know that all too well considering Siraj just recently in Johannesburg. If it's 'a problem with fitness', I think that's harsh. Was listening on radio when that happened. They were suggesting Wagner could be given a couple with the new ball.I also feel if Wagner didn't no ball the Mominal dismissal in the first innings when he was early on in his innings, that would have changed the game completely. He was on fire, and we then took the new ball straight away, with Boult and Southee coming on to bowl floaters and take the pressure off.
I think the team does miss CDC's bowling.Full credit to Bangladesh, outstanding performance tbh.
Must say I haven't really been impressed with Latham's captaincy in the small sample size with maybe the exception of Edgbaston last year.
Just for lols, hypothetically if Latham was injured for Christchurch, make the Boss captain in his last test and have this XI
Ravindra
Young
Conway
Boss
Nicholls
Blundell
Mitchell (although I'd rather CDG)
Jamieson
Southee
Wags
Boult.
Apologies, was not suggesting that you were being harsh or punching down, meant it to read as it would be harsh of the selectors / brains trust if they had now put Ferguson in a box marked 'too brittle to play test cricket' solely based on the one outing at Perth.Nah, didn't mean to be harsh here or punch down on him, just wondering why he's not been picked in recent times.
