So good. That has to be up there as one of the all time great unexpected wins from any side... probably even more of a shock than the sl win in SA. No shakib, no tamim and they go and do this at the home of the world champs. The fact that they didn't just sneak a win in dodgy circumstances on some unplayable green seamer/rank turner but comprehensively outplayed nz on a perfectly good pitch makes it even more impressive. Stuff of legends.

**** the timezone though. Missed the finish :(

Surely this is the low point in NZ cricket history? It’s basically your version of us losing to India at home.

Just painfully embarrassing losing to these lesser sides in your own backyard. As with CA, there should now be mass resignations/ sackings at CNZ.

For NZ, I wont be pressing any panic buttons just yet. I am not quite sold on Nicholls, Blundell but you got KW coming in to replace Ross and that is about it. I wont be throwing out Rachin just as yet. Perhaps ask him to open if that is his regular slot in domestics, push Will Young to 3, KW to 4 and Conway to 5 and drop Nicholls. This way you get your 5 man seam attack plus a decent backup spin option. They perhaps took them light subconsciously, but same could be said about India in NZ esp. in 2020. I think they were perhaps 5-10% lacking intensity in the first couple of days and at the highest level that is all it takes to be beaten, esp. when the other side are really up for it and have planned for it, which, to their credit, BD were. Also, bin Blundell if he is not up to it but give him the full home season to be fair.

If it was upto me though, I will go with this side and ask for truer pitches at home. You guys are inaugural world champions and its high time you make winning in more normal pitches a habit.

They can't go dropping Nicholls. If one of our 7/8/9 had stayed with him on day 2 he could've scored a century and got us to 400.

I agree but I am just suggesting what I personally think is your best side, having only seen them in international cricket, that too off and on. So its really not worth much but I just feel you guys will do your best with that line up across conditions.

I don't get the sudden obsession around here with putting KW at 4 when he returns. He's a natural 3, has been his whole life, is our greatest ever bat, has been one of the biggest reasons for our success in recent years, scored two double centuries and a century last year, should really be in the prime batting for of his life right now given his age...and now you want to move him? Why? If it ain't broke don't fix it, and that is the least broke of everything in our team.

It's a bit sad if NZ can't perform well on so-called roads and must have green seamers. The 'no swing' factor is also in play: you can't do much about a lack of cloud cover so taking a swipe at the Mount Maunganui groundsman is not going to change that. These were perfect conditions for playing cricket, lovely weather. Bangladesh selections and tactics were correct. Bowling at the stumps was the way to go. NZ bowled too short and without any great pace for long periods, too many deliveries not threatening the stumps or causing the batsmen to hurry their shot making. I think some of Tom's post-match comments amount to a veiled swipe at the surface. NZ have beaten sides at this ground before so I hate to read the excuses and the criticisms of the Mount.

This looks a much better line-up. Probably just swap Kane and Young alone. Mitchell and Ajaz should be in.

You'll need a higher class of bait Burgey, the store bought worms ain't cutting it
No seriously, I'm not one for baiting our Trans-Tasman neighbours.

But this must be staggeringly bad for NZ supporters. You come off the great highs of last year and dish up this dross at home vs a minnow. There is no place for "oh well, they aren't that bad a side, I suppose." That sort of attitude is a recipe for long term mediocrity. You need to be disgusted with what your lads dished up, because these days NZ fans are entitled to expect a lot better than this.

TBF, we seem to be the bogey team for Nicholls as much as NZ have been to us. So cant judge him based only on that. He seems to have made runs otherwise, so may not be droppable as yet.
