there's some pretty good batsmen on that list. Stewart was a WK but batted pretty high up.

Jfc Rahanes average has dropped to 38.9

I get he's playing in a tough era and all that, but when's the last time a batter has played as many Tests as Rahane and finished with a sub 40 average?

Bairstow, Buttler etc

Thakur is a top tier ATG in the making. Averages 22 in Aus,Eng and 13 in SA. And like Lillee and Bumrah, doesn't believe in playing in Asia.

I don't think he'll have great stats, but he'll end up with more meaningful contributions like Laxman. And a decade after his retirement, some stats muncher will say he was "OK", nothing too special about his numbers.

This game might turn out to be a classic. Game is on a knife's edge. Nobody saw it coming what Pujara did but he needs to score at least a 50 here to keep his spot I think & so does Rahane. Attacking cricket is best served here I think.

Just do not trust the Indian batting to put up a good score. Need a minimum of 250 to be competitive. Also how impressive have Petersen and Bavuma been? The bowling has been of very high standard and they looked good while at the crease.
