Nah I would rather lose to this lot than how we got smashed by the Aussies and cop it from their insufferable media and ours.No surprises to see the usual self centered blow in Indian fans making a thread all about them. Shameful team given Bangladesh here didn't need to do what Dravid did - order the Mumbai curator to make a viper to beat NZ. Pathetic.
Speaking of the teams actually playing right now, I've roasted Bangladesh for so long and wrote them off completely for this tour. **** me they've delivered in this game. This is not just the most courageous performance on NZ soil by a touring side that I can remember, but barring the random mass panic with their referrals and some of the catching, they have been the most clinical since Australia 2016. SA did sneak off with a rain assisted 1-0 victory in 2017, but those games were close and SA tried to bottle it twice in the rain affected games.
It would be easy for me to sook about how slow and attritional the deck is, but fact is NZ have beaten far more fancied sides on this Mt Maunganui deck. England saw the pitch and immediately gave up. Pakistan panicked on Day 5. NZ did the job then.
Bangladesh have shown up, bowled clinically despite NZ getting off to an early good start and stayed in the hunt. When they batted they correctly turned this into a war of attrition, and I think the NZ bowlers got hot and frustrated with the 'minnow' very quickly.
Now they've come out with fresh bowlers and found some turn and inconsistent bounce, and bowled very clinically. If Mominul was banned from listening to bowlers about reviews this would be done already.
This is more or less who I would have picked for NZ, and they've just been outplayed. Bangladesh should give NZ their worst ever defeat in their history tomorrow and it will be a well deserved win for Bangladesh. Can't fault them.
