***Official*** Bangladesh in NZ 2021-22

No surprises to see the usual self centered blow in Indian fans making a thread all about them. Shameful team given Bangladesh here didn't need to do what Dravid did - order the Mumbai curator to make a viper to beat NZ. Pathetic.

Speaking of the teams actually playing right now, I've roasted Bangladesh for so long and wrote them off completely for this tour. **** me they've delivered in this game. This is not just the most courageous performance on NZ soil by a touring side that I can remember, but barring the random mass panic with their referrals and some of the catching, they have been the most clinical since Australia 2016. SA did sneak off with a rain assisted 1-0 victory in 2017, but those games were close and SA tried to bottle it twice in the rain affected games.

It would be easy for me to sook about how slow and attritional the deck is, but fact is NZ have beaten far more fancied sides on this Mt Maunganui deck. England saw the pitch and immediately gave up. Pakistan panicked on Day 5. NZ did the job then.

Bangladesh have shown up, bowled clinically despite NZ getting off to an early good start and stayed in the hunt. When they batted they correctly turned this into a war of attrition, and I think the NZ bowlers got hot and frustrated with the 'minnow' very quickly.

Now they've come out with fresh bowlers and found some turn and inconsistent bounce, and bowled very clinically. If Mominul was banned from listening to bowlers about reviews this would be done already.

This is more or less who I would have picked for NZ, and they've just been outplayed. Bangladesh should give NZ their worst ever defeat in their history tomorrow and it will be a well deserved win for Bangladesh. Can't fault them.
Nah I would rather lose to this lot than how we got smashed by the Aussies and cop it from their insufferable media and ours.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but IIRC the only times BD have ever won an Away Test was against Zimbabwe and the West Indies when all their players were on strike. Don't think we've won a game anywhere else?

Not really. All our identities are due to our association with our 'physical body'.

We say 'I am white or black' because of skin tone of body.

We say 'I am man or woman' because of physical gender.

We say 'I am Indian or Kiwi' because of physical birth.

We say 'I am a son/father/brother/husband' because of physical relations.

We say 'I am a Black Caps fan' because of your physical nationality etc

Once you drop your 'physical body', none of this applies, you are free from these limited identities. There is no differentiation. All the same. Everyone the same. All one.
This post is tight y’all corny for hating

for those(mostly Indians)who keep initiating that NZ are fake and worthless test champions, I feel compelled
to re write a post that was done just over a month ago.
here's what's happened in recent times...

1. INDIA were DECIMATED in the test series and ODI series by NZ less than 2 years ago.
2.INDIA were HUMILIATED and KNOCKED out of the world cup SEMI FINAL by NZ.
3.INDIA were ANNIHILATED by NZ in the 20/20 world cup just a couple of months ago.
4.INDIA were SMASHED by NZ in the world test championship final on a neutral venue.
5.INDIA were DENIED a test victory at home by NZ from a team with about as much energy left as my 99 year old grandmother.

If you have anything to say about this, then please, feel free, but stick to the CORE facts of the matter.
otherwise shut the f.... up.

Getting serious again, Blundell is running out of time to get his **** together with the way Cleaver and Fletcher have benn playing this season.
While loyalty is good and giving people time to find their feet etc is good. Been a big part of building a stable team and squad.

It's bad timing that BOTH Cleaver and Fletcher are in the form of their lives this season, while Tom is tanking, but change wont happen until probably neither of them still are.

I assume Cleaver will go to Aussie with the white ball squad in late Jan, Blundell will stay at home for South Africa tests. But could be a white ball international career for Cleaver, as in 2 years Max Chu will be making enough runs to take over the test keeping role. Fletcher might be unlucky, or need to wait for an injury or two.

This man went all caps DECIMATED as if 1.1Indian cricketers died from a test defeat

Well played so far, Bangladesh. It's going to take something special for us to get out of this predicament. We have been made to pay for the "yeah, nah, this will do" attitude of the lower order in particular in the first innings. We get 400 first up and this game would be very different.

Even if we somehow set 150 to win, will the pace attack really have it in them to take 10 wickets?

Any other opposition, and we would be toast. As it is, Bangladesh are only evens at William Hill to win.

My hunch is Chu is outperforming his natural ceiling with the bat at the moment, but will revert more to his mean. Dont see him being a test player by age 23. But he will be a test player later.

I have only seen him in his limited opportunities batting 8 in Super Smash but he looks very strong through the offside, times the ball very well. I think Blundell will come good as the season goes on although he maybe should shift to 7 below Ravindra.

Shahadat Hossain once pulled apart Smith's South Africa in Bangladesh, taking a 6-fa with some pretty unplayable reverse swing. This is probably second at this stage.
Somehow I can’t seem to recall this performance. With Shahadat, his spell against dravid comes to my mind always. I think dravid got hit in the helmet and then was bowled iirc

Sadly can't view that video in Australia.

This is the Shahadat performance, it was in 2008. He appears to have got 6/27:

Chu is a long way off surely.

Cleaver was always marked for greater things and is a good Central Stags man, but Fletcher has been such a steady improver. He's scored NZ A runs too against real teams like India and Pakistan A iirc, so full credit to him. I mainly remember him for a random domestic T20 game for being real chippy behind the stumps haha. An Aucklander turned Cantabrian is probably the worst sort of person alive, and him being a keeper compounds it, so I am open to him for that #competitiveedge

Also lol at Shakib. He was probably the only person more sure than NZ fans that this series was in the bag for NZ, and now the Bangers middle order and Mehidy Hasan have kinda made him look redundant. Taste it prick.
