Dunno, it just looked small compared to the grounds the last two tests I watched were played on. Namely Centurion and the MCG. Fair enough if it's actually above-average sized.
MCG is the biggest ground in the world, everything looks small compares to it. Bay oval has 70-80 meter boundaries all around the ground iirc, so it’s pretty decent.

Amongst NZ ground:

Big: Hagley Oval
Normal: Basin Reserve, Bay Oval
Long straight, short square: Wellington Stadium and McLane Park
Small: seddon Park, University Oval
Very small: Eden Park
Comically small: Pukekura Park

I'm gonna contrararionize on part of this too.

I actually couldn't believe how small the boundaries were when watching the Centurion test.

All exaggerated predictions of doom and general joking aside, this test match right now is going very badly for us FTR
Yeah, I put $10 on the Bangerz as I thought 25:1 was taking the piss a bit. Doubt NZ will actually lose, but it’s setting up a nice cash out opportunity if this goes on for the rest of the day.

2 you missed.

Cobham Oval is NZ biggest.

Saxton Oval, Nelson. Now this is the disappointing one. Had hundreds of hectares of open land, and they built a cricket Oval with 60m boundaries .*

(*Its because in CD, they are all malformed weaklings with no arm muscles, and cant hit proper sixes. So, they know no better.)

Regardless of what happens from here, this has been a way more impressive showing than I or I think anyone else expected from Bangladesh here. Genuinely solid display.

I feel weirdly ok about it. We had a dream run and a **** ton of luck for our all fast medium strat to net us a test championship, think it's healthy to have it exposed as a limited team comp to rely on

Eden park is actually almost as large as the mcg square

Has there ever been an international played at Cobham Oval? I remember there being a televised NZA v England game there but I don’t know if it ever graduated to the big leagues.

Zim ODI in 2011.
May be the only one?

And Pukekura Park is nearly as big as the MCG pitch.
I thought it was a joke about the square as in the pitches, but I think he’s literally referring to the square boundaries. Not sure how close it actually is but Eden Park is reasonably long square…but then the MCG is also longer square than straight.
