i'm honestly surprised stokes didn't try and hog the strike. he was clearly rattled after that, started playing a shot a ball
yeah, and they were too busy laughing at his running, but those shots he played last over were terrible. and obviously that's how he got out in the end

Easily. I mean any one of Smith injury, Stokes lucky innings, a single bad umpiring decision not happening and the 2019 Ashes would have been 3-1 at worst.

Could also argue it the other way. Australia’s win in the first test was aided considerably by Clouderson getting injured.

Sure there are hundreds of moments that go either way you could point to, in every series, but this was literally one bad umpiring decision that decided the 3rd Test. Stokes was plumb lbw when England were 9-down and that would have been that.

But that's beside the point, which is that Aus beating England in England is not some huge unlikely accomplishment. If anything they would be odds-on favourites.
