Just on the earlier conversation, I very much think Bancroft being picked to open for the 2019 Ashes in first place was worse than him being dropped after the 2nd test

I didn't have a strong view on Bancroft vs Harris. My issue was that whoever was decided to be be the better batsman, the guy not picked wasn't going to become a better played in the space of two tests Add in the fact that Smith was missing the next test and the selection crunch for the fourth test when Smith returned and it was a reckless move to pick Harris. (as I predicted at the time :cool:)
