Crazy day. Looked like Australia would score a million for large parts of the day, then it looked like England had realistic chances of bowling Australia for under 250, now it looks like 400 is back on the cards.

Fantastic knocks from Head and to a lesser extent Marnus. Warner lucky but did score runs.

Head's average around 42-43 now. Not a super high sample size admittedly but for a #5 that is a very fine average.

Fun days play. Here’s hoping Smith continues to **** the bed and we at least get an entertainingly low scoring 5-0 as opposed 25 days of England’s slow crucifixion under the cruel Australian sun.

Shoulda picked the 5 seamers. Stokes barely counts as a seamer anyway with his bad knee and coming back from a long absence.

I guess with Leach you reap what you sow. If you don't play him for ages, you can't complain too much if he is rubbish when he plays. Unlikely to improve or feel confident in side unless he does play regularly rather than carry the drinks.

I hope young Travis learned a valuable lesson about keeping your eye on the ball today.

It's all well and good to wear all the protective gear they have these days, but too many young players are clearly never taught proper technique against the beamer.
