Is there even 1 modern Test bat having average < 50 and regarded as ATG ?What if he finished with average under 50 even with WI career? Would have happened if he got out on duck in last innings IIRC. Would he still be considered one of the premier batsmen of all time?
Graeme Smith, Alistair CookIs there even 1 modern Test bat having average < 50 and regarded as ATG ?
Cook as ATG ?Graeme Smith, Alistair Cook
Stokes may end up one if can get his average to 45-48 area while maintaining his clutch performances with the batCook as ATG ?
Smith is borderline ATG.
He would be ATG because of him being allrounder. He won't be considered ATG bat.Stokes may end up one if can get his average to 45-48 area while maintaining his clutch performances with the bat
Gavaskar, G. Chappell, Miandad and Border played in the same era; faced three generations of the WI Indies attacks over many years and still ended up averaging 50+ over their long careers. As a batsman capable of dominating fast bowling, Viv was on par with them all - if not marginally better. He would, most probably, also have averaged above 50, IMO.Viv Richards career average = 50.24
So if he had to face his own Country bowling attack , how much he would have averaged ( career average ) ?
And suppose , his average would have been < 50 , how he would have been rated ?

Assume Australia .Depends on which team he would’ve played for.
