The pitch did not deteriorate enough for 200 to be any sort of decent target
Haven't watched enough today, but last night it seemed to be gripping and biting and occasionally keeping low. Seemed a lot more innocuous today in the brief bits of batting I watched earlier? The pitch did not deteriorate enough for 200 to be any sort of decent target
I initially thought this was a gambhiring post, but might actually be accurate.I thought batting first was wrong decision. They know this pitch very well but still made the mistake. The pitch here tends to get better and better by each day and becomes absolute road of roads on day 3/4 and even on day 5. Whatever little purchase we were gonna get it’d to be on day 1. However with this terrible bowling line up, I doubt that too. Batting Yasir Ali at 7 is a waste of space as he can’t bowl. I’d rather play a bowler there.
Yes, his glovework is excellent...Yeah he's played real well. Has been the better keeper as well.
Think he's just one of these guys that has a lot of shots but not the reflexes and hand-eye to handle top class international bowling. He's now had 11 innings for an average of 15ish in tests and been out looking pretty amateurish a few times. It's a long way back from there, and even our worst early era batsmen fared better statistically.Yes, his glovework is excellent...
My biggest disappointment though is Saif Hassan...loads of potential, yet he's not transitioned well into Test cricket.
It was bowling esp Afridi. They could not handle his pace and bounce. Not sure what went wrong in that 4th innings as I didn't get to watch much of it. Was hoping it had more to do with the pitch than the bowling, but I find it strange that a pitch would start out flat, suddenly get more difficult to bat on in the middle days, and then flatten out again. That doesn't sound right?
A joyous occassion for him I'm sure.Yes Joy making debut today
