Plenty of cricket to go still. Can't take the credit away from Latham and Young. They did great and we didn't capitalize. We got to seize the momentum again, couple of early wickets will do that.
Watched Ravindra's inning ball by ball today. Barely tickled the scorers but there's so much promise. Looks pretty chilled out and body language suggests he doesn't seem to care he's playing vs spinning legends in their own backyard. The management has done well to have debutants play with confidence. We barely get to watch Rachin play spin in Wellington. For someone who opens the batting that's quite good. Blocks in front of the pads, plays positively, times the ball brilliantly and oh he bowls well too. He'll get truck load of runs around the world no doubt about that. Playing fast bowling is his usp.
It'll take time for him to make consistent impact but we have a player that's of quality for future.
Seen a lot of cricket over the years. Even highly experienced players looked totally at sea playing in sub continent. Not this upcoming current lot, they're a confident bunch. These guys need good backing and they'll do wonders in future for NZ cricket. Just glad we're not going to have one off couple of good years. Longer Taylor plays and with the likes of Latham, Kane, Guptill, boult, Southee etc around the next bunch of players will make sure we won't fall away.
Ben Sears, Allen, ravindra, Smith etc have very bright future.
