The FINAL, Australia v New Zealand (THE BATTLE OF THE MITCHELLS) at the Ring of Fire, Dubai-- 11/14 Sunday (N)

There is just something in the match up between NZ bowling and Aus batting though. It doesn’t matter who we actually have or how bad Australia are, somehow they see it all as Richard de Groen

We scored heaps. Our batting is limited. Our bowling is supposed to be good and they’ve bottled it.
This is the crux of it. Yes would've liked our batting to push a bit more in the first ten overs, but they were cautious with some reason and finished well. We picked five bowlers whereas Australia picked four plus part-timers to stack the batting. Yet our bowling aside from Boult has been slaughtered.

With Aussies and Kiwis, the real game begins after the match when they meet up for drinks and engage in banter.

They put us under pressure ... like we failed to do to them

I don't think I've ever mentioned Sodhi in a sentence in my life, other than when bowled well against Bangladesh when we made about 30

Your idea of a fine red ball bowler is long hops and full tosses from a leg spinner who doesn’t know how to bowl a leg break

Anyway, annoying that it's Mitchell Marsh of all people to be the matchwinner and the clear best Mitchell on the day. He has struck the ball incredibly throughout and played with no fear.

Lol, I don't remember him bowling three balls off the pitch and another one at bouncer length in the same over in that match. But fair play to him, I thought he gave a great account of himself against a team that cruised to series wins against both finalists

Never mind, I just realised that was against India.

Carry on.

In the brief interactions I’ve had with you I’m not convinced you’ve watched a single ball of cricket
